Our annual team well-being event was held at Brean Country and gave team members the opportunity to explore various areas to help improve their own and their family's well-being.
The theme of the event was around the 5 ways of well-being - Take notice, Connect, Keep learning, Give to others, and Be active
A number of resource tables were available for the team to browse with advice from stop smoking, healthy eating, training opportunities with Somerset skills and learning, local clubs and volunteering opportunities, and in Charley’s memory.
There was also a book swap, plants and seeds table as well as lots of free goodies for our team to take away. The smoothie bike was also out making some fresh fruit smoothies!
Over 70 team members attended and were entered into a raffle to win a range of prizes such a cinema tickets, paddle boarding and spa.
Diane Bowen Head of People commented ‘We value the importance of work life balance across our teams, and dedicating time where our team have access to a wide range of information to help their wellbeing all in one place to help them. It also allowed us to promote clubs and hobbies in the local area.
The company has a health and well-being policy and training for our managers in mental health awareness. Our team also gave access to a professional independent employee assistance program available 24/7 as well as own mental health first aiders. As a family owned business our core values form the heart of our operation and we couldn’t do this without our hard working team’
