Team Brean Charity Chase the Sun Challenge

A challenge of a different kind!

This year's charity challenge stepped up in distance and started in Kent at Minster on Sea at an early 4am ready for sunrise just after 4.30am.

We joined around 800 other cyclists to Chase the Sun back home to Weston Super Mare, Coast to Coast from sunrise to sunset. A total distance of 205 miles. Navigating across the rolling countryside with a headwind, rain at times, touching the outskirts of London and varying road surfaces it certainly lived up to its tough expectations.

Towards the end of the route, a fast cycle down Cheddar Gorge and onto the Grand Pier for the finale. Three of #teambrean members took on the challenge as a relay each riding for 30 miles twice over and passing on the GPS tracker as a relay Barton and one person rode the whole 205 miles by themselves.

Sarah House, Resort Director who also took part in the challenge with other family members who work at Holiday Resort Unity & Brean Leisure Park commented.

‘This challenge was part of our fundraising for the main charity we are supporting this year, Burnham On Sea based charity BARB. The Burnham Area Rescue Boat. Each year we raise several thousand pounds for charity across the business. Getting fit and pushing boundaries we haven’t done before is great fun and very rewarding'
